Hi, I’m Brynne. I am a pastry chef, wine enthusist, avid reader and food history lover. This is my personal blog where I write about whatever sparks my curiosity or has been on my mind. Here you will find my experiences as someone in the food industry and as a food lover (unfortunately not always the same thing), some short histories of specific foods, and the occasional book recommendations or review. Maybe even a recipe or two. A bit of this, a pinch of that.
What we eat and where it comes from is such a big part of who we are as people and as humans. How food connects us is something that is on my mind quite often. Everyone needs to eat. It provides sustinece physically, yes, but also facilitates social connection. Traditional foods are a link to heritage and culture. Tracing foodways throughout history can provide us with a roadmap of how and when peoples have interacted in the past and influenced one another. What we eat, how, when, why, says something about who we are, and what we believe. Food is so much more than heating up dinner seven nights a week. In a time when differences can feel so vast, and things can feel so disconnected, food is our universal bridge.
So lets talk about it! I hope you find something of interest here. Drop me a line if you have any questions, contributions, reccomendations, or just want to say hi. 🙂
